TRU Job Fair attracts 72 employers
KAMLOOPS — The Campus Activity Centre at Thompson Rivers University was filled with job-seekers Thursday afternoon. Close to 1500 students attended the University’s annual job fair, to try and make that important connection with potential employers. From trades, tourism, health care, business and finance, 72 employers set up booths giving students the opportunity to meet face to face, and build relationships that could one day help them secure their first big job.
“This year worked really well, we have a little bit of something for everybody, construction, trades, tourism, business, culinary arts, it’s almost every program we offer at TRU has someone here today that they can talk to, it’s a nice spread of companies,” says Larry Iles, TRU Career Educator.
Over the past 20 years, the TRU Job Fair has become one of the largest of it’s kind in the Interior. It has grown to include provincial and national organizations, interested in recruiting students for part-time and full-time positions.
