MICHAEL B. JORDAN’S PRODUCTION CO. TO ADOPT INCLUSION RIDER: Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan is taking up the challenge issued by Frances McDormand in her Oscars acceptance speech by adopting an inclusion rider. The rider requires producers to cast actors (and hire crew) who represent the demographics of where the film takes place. Jordan took to social media to say he will include the clause in deals with his company, Outlier Society.

JON FAVREAU TO EP & PEN STAR WARS SERIES: Disney‘s new streaming platform is calling in the big guns. Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau has signed on to exec produce and write a live-action Star Wars series. Favreau has played characters in both the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series and in the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story. “I couldn’t be more excited about Jon coming on board to produce and write for the new direct-to-consumer platform,” says Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy. “Jon brings the perfect mix of producing and writing talent, combined with a fluency in the Star Wars universe. This series will allow Jon the chance to work with a diverse group of writers and directors and give Lucasfilm the opportunity to build a robust talent base.” The release date is TBD.

SANTA CLARITA DIET TRAILER DROPS: In the new trailer for Netflix‘s Santa Clarita Diet, Sheila (Drew Barrymore) is chained in the basement to keep her flesh-eating urges under lock and key. When Abby (Liv Hewson) comes to check on her, she’s bored, she tells her daughter. “I know you’re worried that I am going to go out there and kill somebody, but think about all the people I haven’t killed.” The second season of the suburban undead comedy drops March 23rd.

CARTOON NETWORK ROLLS OUT LARGEST-EVER SLATE: The Cartoon Network has announced its biggest slate of content ever from a “a new wave of creators telling stories that are relevant and reflective of today’s kids.” According to Deadline, new series include Owen Dennis‘ adventure series Infinity Train and Diego Molano‘s Latin American supernatural comedy Victor and Valentino, Apple & Onion from George Gendi, which just premiered; Craig of The Creek by Matt Burnett and Ben Levin, an upcoming premiere; and Julia Pott‘s Summer Camp Island, which will debut this summer. Another recent premiere is Unkitty! CN is also adding 30+ new games and apps to its mobile and online platform.

NICKELODEON ORDERS BUDDY COMEDY COUSINS FOR LIFE: Nickelodeon gave Cousins for Life, a buddy comedy from Austin & Ally creators Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert the green light. The live-action series will being production in L.A. this summer and it is set to air later this year. Dallas Young and Scarlet Spencer star as 12-year-old cousins / BFFs with different backgrounds and have come to live under the same roof.
