Man dies in ski accident

KAMLOOPS — A Lower Mainland man has died in a back country skiing incident in the North Okanagan.
RCMP Cst. Kelly Brett says a skier got separated from his group of 14 on a Cat-ski run near Keefer Lake Lodge, east of Cherryville Monday.
“A search was initiated by the ski group on the onset of a report to the RCMP. A 51 year old Vancouver male was located in a tree well, unresponsive at the time,” says Brett.
The BC Ambulance Service air-lifted the male to the nearest medical facility, but the man could not be resuscitated and didn’t survive his injuries.
