“No doubt it’s our biggest fundraiser of the year,” Dueck said. “It’s really something we’ve relied on to give us a kickstart into spring. We’re excited to do it, it’s been growing, last year was our biggest ever. We just want to continue on with it, and hope it keeps growing.”

While the name of the event implies bad weather, Dueck says this is the first year the event will be held in this type of wintery condition. He says the number of walkers registered so far is down from previous years, but he’s confident city residents will step up and help those in need.

“Our walker numbers are way down, and I’m sure the weather has something to do with that,” Dueck told CFJC Today. “ We’re still hoping for a great turnout, as it’s still something we really depend on.”
