KAMLOOPS — A rude awakening for a Kamloops couple that lives on Oak Road Wednesday morning.
Police say the bizarre assault occurred at around 3 a.m.
“A male and female reported that two men dressed in black and wearing black bandanas kicked in the door to their residence,” says Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie. “The male victim received a minor injury after being struck with what appeared to be a hammer.”

She says the suspects also dispersed some kind of pepper spray into the home before fleeing the scene wtihout saying anything, making any threats or stealing any items.
Shelkie says the victims were transported to hospital “to be decontaminated.”
“At this time, we don’t know what the motivation was for the assault, as the suspects didn’t say anything or steal anything,” said Shelkie.
Anyone with any information is asked to call police.
