KAMLOOPS — Police are asking parents to review basic safety principles following a possible child luring incident near Pritchard.

Southeast District RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says the alleged incident occurred Thursday afternoon.

“The Chase RCMP received a report of a suspicious incident involving a 14 year old girl in the Martin Prairie Road area near Pritchard,” he says. “At approximately 3:30 p.m. that afternoon, the teenage girl exited a school bus and was approached by a man driving a maroon coloured four-door car with a black hood.”

Moskaluk says the girl told police the man told her he was there to pick her up and when she declined the ride the man forcefully told her to get in his car.

He says the girl then ran to a nearby home prompting the man to leave the area.

Moskaluk says the man was around 40 years old, white with a balding hairline, with dark coloured hair on the sides of his head with sideburns which extended to his moustache and a goatee.

“The matter remains under investigation and police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact the Chase Detachment at (250) 679-3221 or Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477,” says Moskaluk.
