Property purchased on River St. allows city to expand Rivers Trail

KAMLOOPS — The city also confirmed the purchase of another property that will expand the Rivers Trail. 

The city has bought a house on River Street that will be torn down and developed for park use, allowing the city to connect the Rivers Trail.

“The River Street property is one we’ve been looking at for some time, and that site is beyond its capacity with Interior Services, so we put an offer in on that because it is an extension of our holdings down there,” said Christian. “It’s next to the Yacht Club, and as and when these properties become available I think it’s in the public’s best interest to have those reclaimed for public use.”

City staff revealed at council it purchased the home on 1286 River Street for $702,500.
