Residents still have week to drop off Christmas trees
KAMLOOPS — Nine days into the new year and the City of Kamloops is still taking Christmas trees to recycle.
There are 12 locations where you can recycle your Christmas tree, including the parking lot at Albert McGowan Park. The city is accepting trees until Jan. 15 when they’ll be taken to Cinnamon Ridge.
“We’re seeing a lot of the sites very busy with those natural trees,” said streets and environmental services manager Glen Farrow. “All those trees, they all get taken to our Cinnamon Ridge compost facility, where they’ll all get chipped up, broken down and then blended into compost for future years.”
