New Year brings the start of better weather

Jan 2, 2018 | 4:24 AM

KAMLOOPS — The weather is starting to lighten up, the roads are slowly getting better, and gas prices should be okay for the next few days at least.

That’s the good news heading into 2018, along with the fact that MSP premiums have been slashed in half and we’re free of the Ajax controversy, at least for now.

Temperatures are expected to start rising today, with a forecast high of minus 8, and highs will get close to the freezing mark by the weekend.

Temperatures also moderating a bit at Sun Peaks, and while they haven’t had any new snow the past couple of days, skiing is still in full swing this last week of Christmas break, with some snow forecast by Friday.
