Air Canada introduces Kamloops-to-Toronto flight, starting June ’18

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops travellers will be able to connect directly with Canada’s largest airport in the new year.

Air Canada Rouge has unveiled its Spring 2018 flight schedule, and it includes nonstop service from YKA to Pearson International Airport in Toronto.

The return flight is scheduled to begin in June of 2018, running on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Each flight will begin in Toronto with a 9:45 a.m. departure, and depart Kamloops for Toronto at 12:15 p.m.

Air Canada Rouge says the flights will be made with a 136-seat Airbus A319 aircraft.

The airline’s spring schedule runs from June until October with the possibility it could be extended if it’s a hit with the public.

“We’re always looking to add new service to Kamloops Airport,” says Kamloops Airport Managing Director Heather McCarley. “So, if we’re able to get the word out and make this a really successful route, we hope to extend it into the winter season and perhaps year round.”

She adds the service is an opportunity for Kamloops to “really roll out the welcome mat and showcase our exciting destination. And it’s a great opportunity for our community, too, and our regional businesses who can now access new markets right from our local airport.”
