KAMLOOPS — Some anxious moments at Sa-Hali Secondary today as an incident involving a bear spray-like substance led to students being evacuated around the lunch hour.
“The school staff was told there was some kind of a noxious spray,” says School District 73 spokesperson Robert Koopmans. “The school staff investigated, the school was evacuated temporarily. The nature of the substance isn’t known. It could be a bear spray-like substance.”
He says no students suffered any distress or required any medical attention and that students were allowed back into the school shortly afterwards.
Koopmans adds the RCMP were called and the incident remains under investigation.
