Wanted man’s mom ‘praying that he gives himself up’

Earlier:The mother of a wanted man sought by police following an altercation Saturday night at the Tournament Inn in Valleyview is pleading with him to turn himself in.

Police are seeking 41-year-old Michael Shawn Boyer, who according to the Kamloops RCMP, was one of “a group of suspicious people in the motel parking lot” just after 5 p.m.

An officer attempted to arrest Boyer suffering non-life threatening injuries in the process. Boyer hasn’t been seen since.

Now his mother, Darlene Boyer, is speaking out.

Sunday morning on Facebook she noted her “worst nightmare” had occurred.

“My son is on the Kamloops news wanted and at large considered dangerous,” she wrote. “I sit here praying that he gives himself up. He had 9 years clean and went back out to this frightening addiction and lifestyle. There is nothing I can do but wait which is making me physically sick. If anyone sees him or heard from him please please please tell him to surrender.”

Boyer goes on to say that she loves him adding “this isn’t the way I thought your life would end…Mike if you see this surrender yourself peacfully.”

Attempts to reach Darlene Boyer by the CFJC Today news team have been unsuccessful so far.

He is described as a white male, six feet one, and weighing 180 pounds.
