KAMLOOPS — With just one graduating player on the squad, it’s been a season of learning for the youthful lineup on the WolfPack women’s soccer team — which has put extra pressure on 4th year defender Christine Fergin.

Fergin is the veteran and co-captain of the team.

“It’s been a lot of fun” says the 21-year old from Waterloo, Ontario.

Head coach Kelly Shantz says Fergin’s leadership by example has been important in the successes the team has had on the pitch.

“Mostly Christine understands the intensity of playing for 90 minutes twice a weekend — at the intensity and physicality that this takes at this level — it’s all in, and nobody epitomizes playing all in like Christine.”

Fergin says “it’s hard to see it come to an end, but it’s been a good go, so can’t complain.”

It’s not done yet, so you can bet Fergin will be giving it “all in” next weekend as the WolfPack battle UNBC for that final playoff position.
