Kamloops Storm and KIJHL pull out of Keystone Cup
KAMLOOPS — There may not be a Keystone Cup Western Canada junior “B” hockey championship next season.
And if there is, the Kootenay International Junior League won’t be in it.
At their league meetings at Sun Peaks last weekend the KIJHL, along with the rest of the junior “B” leagues in B.C., have opted to pull out of the Keystone.
Kamloops Storm owner Barry Dewar says there are several reasons — one being cost, another inadequate facilities in some of the other provinces that host the Keystone and less interest in some of the other jurisdictions in developing players for the next level.
