‘Everyone makes mistakes:’ Regina teen girl’s killer apologizes in court
REGINA — A young man who was 16 when he killed his former girlfriend has told his sentencing hearing that “everyone makes mistakes.”
The killer, now 19, read from a written statement as he apologized in a Regina court and said he was unstable at the time and wants to spend the rest of his life doing good.
Hannah Leflar was also 16 when she was stabbed multiple times with a hunting knife in January 2015.
She was found in her Regina home by her stepfather.
