KAMLOOPS — A confrontation between an elderly man and his caregivers ended peacefully this afternoon.

Police were called to a home on Desmond Street at about 2:15 p.m., where a distraught 73 year old man is alleged to have made threats involving a gun.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says police rushed to the scene.

“We attended, contacted the man by phone and asked him to the come to the door, which he did,” said Shelkie. “When we confirmed the man had no firearms on him, he was arrested and taken to Royal Inland Hospital for observation. A firearm was seized from inside of the home.”
