Senators’ Anderson honoured before he earns 2-0 shutout over Red Wings
OTTAWA — Ten days ago Craig Anderson played his 500th game in the NHL when the Ottawa Senators played in Montreal.
Tuesday night before the home game against the Detroit Red Wings, Anderson was recognized for the achievement in a ceremony that lasted about five minutes, and then proceeded to shut out the Red Wings 2-0.
“It was a little longer than I expected but it hits home,” said Anderson. “It’s definitely emotional but the guys rallied around it and I rallied around it and we got a great all around effort.”
Erik Karlsson and Tom Pyatt scored while Anderson made 24 saves for his fifth shutout of the season.
