CLEARWATER, B.C. — All is well at Raft River Elementary School in Clearwater after a nearby creek spilled over its banks over the weekend.

School Creek breached Saturday night, forcing officials and heavy equipment to spring to action.

District of Clearwater CAO Leslie Groulx says all is back to normal.

“We went back yesterday morning, and did some berms to keep the water away from there. Late yesterday afternoon (April 2), in partnership with Kinder Morgan, because the pipeline was right where the breach was with the creek, and the property owner, we were able to clear that, and make sure the kids were in school today,” said Groulx.

Groulx says it’s likely been more than 20 years since the creek breached its banks in this fashion.
