Police: 2 Miami officers wounded in ‘ambush-style’ shooting

MIAMI — Authorities say two Florida police officers have been wounded in what they describe as “an ambush-style” shooting.

In a news release, Miami-Dade Police said the plainclothes officers were shot Monday night while investigating gang activity on the city’s north side. The officers are part of the Homicide Task Force-Gang Unit.

Miami-Dade Police Director Juan Perez says fellow officers used a pickup truck to bring Det. Terrance White and Det. Charles Woods to the hospital.

The news release said White was listed in stable condition, while Woods was treated and released.
