Sun Peaks Health Centre closing in on completion for Fall 2017
SUN PEAKS — Last July saw a pair of funding announcements made at Sun Peaks Resort. The first saw a $100,000 contribution for the new Health Centre at Sun Peaks from the Ministry of Health.
Today, Mayor and Council of Sun Peaks, as well as members of the Sun Peaks Health Association were joined by local MLAs Terry Lake and Todd Stone to get a first look inside the facility. While the building is still under construction, the basic layout of the centre has been completed. Kamloops-North Thompson MLA Terry Lake says despite the fact that the contribution from the province, the community of Sun Peaks is the real driver behind getting this project done.
“Most of the money has come from fundraising here in the community,” Lake explained, adding “it’s emblematic of the way people in Sun Peaks do things, whether it’s getting the school going, or the health centre.”
