Newly-opened Comfort Inn helps Merritt residents in need after fire
MERRITT, B.C. — The newly-opened Comfort Inn in Merritt stepped up on Thursday night to help residents displaced by an apartment fire on Merritt avenue, opening its arms to all of the residents living at Kengard Manor.
The hotel, which has only been open since Monday, welcomed 46 guests to stay overnight. The Comfort Inn reached out to the City of Merritt in the aftermath of the fire and said it had free rooms.
