KAMLOOPS — It’s been a project that’s been ongoing for the better part of a year, and finally the hand of the Memorial Hill Cenotaph clocks have been installed.

The final pieces of the four clock faces were installed Thursday.

The restoration of the cenotaph began last spring with hopes to have the clocks running again by Remembrance Day.

The process was delayed as work on the old clock mechanics proved to be a very delicate process.

With the hands finally installed, Kamloops Museum supervisor, Julia Cry says plans are taking shape for a celebratory gathering in the Spring.

“They’re set at the 11th hour, and what we have in mind is a gathering, a small event to commemorate the restoration project and at that point the hands will start to move.”
