Partiers and police out in full swing New Years Eve

KAMLOOPS —With alcohol expected to be flowing New Years Eve, Kamloops RCMP is reminding motorists they’ll be out in full force Saturday night.

Cpl. Jody Neuls says several CounterAttacks will be set up throughout the city in an effort to keep roads safe during the busiest party night of the year.

“The police will be out in full force to keep the roads safe, to ensure that people have a great time while maintaining public safety.”

Neuls says with numerous driving options available for those who decide to celebrate with alcohol, there’s no excuse for impaired driving on B.C. roads.

“The local RCMP is reminding people to exercise safety in celebrating and bringing in the New Year,” added Neuls. “Consider designating a driver or availing yourself of the volunteer efforts of Operation Red Nose.”
