Trailer park fire claims life of Blackpool woman

KAMLOOPS — A 61 year old Blackpool woman is dead after a fire at the Mountainview Trailer Park.

Deputy Chief Mike Savage of the Blackpool Volunteer Fire Department says the structure fire call came in at about 10:00 last night.

“Upon arrival, the structure was fully involved with intense flames and heat,” said Savage. “Fire crews initiated an immediate knockdown, however it wasn’t enough to provide us time to gain entry to the lady that was trapped in the house.”

According to Clearwater RCMP, the woman’s common law husband was elsewhere in the trailer park at the time, and tried to gain entry to the trailer to no avail.
