KAMLOOPS —With Christmas less than a month away, tree sales are picking up in Kamloops.
This weekend the Woodward Christmas Tree Farm officially kicked off its season, with yesterday one of the busiest days in its over 20 years of operation.
“We were run off our feet yesterday, it was super busy,” says Woodward Christmas Tree Farm Owner Debbie Woodward. “I thought it would be a little bit quieter because of the rain in the forecast, but not at all. We do expect next weekend will be our busiest weekend by far.”
Woodward says there’s a reason people return year after year.
“It’s not just Mom picking out the tree from the store, the whole family gets involved. The kids cut it down, it’s super easy. It’s not often that we have things to do with our families that can really involve everybody.”
Woodward says they offer Spruce, Scotch Pine, Douglas Fir and White Fir trees for locals to cut down at their 80-acre site.
Safeway and Save-on-Food also sell pre-cut trees from their operation.
The Woodward Christmas Tree Farm runs every day from 10am to 4pm until December 22nd.
