What is your word?

  • But
  • Just
  • Whatever
  • Always
  • Never
  • Fine
  • I don’t care
  • Should

My word was ‘too bad’, well I guess that is two words. I don’t know what your word is, but I am certain you know. What if you rarely said that word any longer?

How would things be? Would the world fall apart?

It’s hard to just stop doing something but easier to replace the old habit with a new one.

When you figure out what the word is that is not serving you well, come up with a different more productive word to replace it.

Replacing a word, it’s just one more way you can live Your Live, Unlimited!

Creating Happiness at Work!

Have you ever thought about just what happiness at work means? Does it refer to having lots of friends, having a good time, doing interesting work, feeling a sense of accomplishment or having a good boss? Actually, it means all of those things; however, the challenge is find the right job where this “ideal” mixture exists.

Part of this challenge is that 75% of all employees literally “fall” into their current job by accident rather than taking the reins and deliberately searching for the right job. Yet, you can indeed direct your career toward such success. Take control of your life now! Create the happiness you deserve!

Start by looking at your personality and communication style. Are you the type of person who hates crowds and would prefer peace and quiet? If so, you need to look for work that allows you to work independently or in a small group. If you enjoy being around people, seek out work that allows you to work in a team. For those of you that love organizing things, then seek out roles that allow for putting systems in place and following specific steps.

Equally as important though, is to understand what truly motivates you. Are you the kind of person who would never move from your home location for a new job? Are you drawn to larger organizations where you can link your identity with the employer? Are you driven to work under general directions or to lead change in an organization? Or, are you more focused on doing good in the world, taking on challenging problems and helping others?

It is very important to examine all of these elements of your life and personal philosophy so that you can focus your job search and promotional goals to creating true success. My motto is that if you are not doing what you are really good at 80% of the time and in a supportive environment, you will not be happy. And the best way to achieve this is to make a list of your key personality traits and your motivational anchors and compare each and every job opportunity against this list.

Knowing yourself well creates confidence and self-esteem, go for it!
