Latest Kamloops scam targets inexperienced cashiers

KAMLOOPS — RCMP are warning Kamloops businesses to train their employees to take their time when completing transactions with cash.
The warning comes after a pair of businesses were tricked into giving too much change.
Corporal Jodi Shelkie says in each case, the culprit will pay for a purchase with cash, then distract the cashier while he or she is providing change, causing the cashier to return too much money.
Shelkie says that happened at a restaurant and a clothing store in the past week.
