Ashcroft killer to learn his fate in November

KAMLOOPS — An Ashcroft man who killed his uncle two years ago will learn his fate next month.

Shane Gyoba was found guilty in June of using a shovel to kill Ed Gyoba on his Ashcroft property.

The conclusion of the case has awaited the results of a psychiatrist’s report.

In BC Supreme Court today, Crown prosecutor Neil Flanagan told Justice Dev Dley he would not seek a ‘not criminally responsible by reason of mental disorder’ designation.

The case will return to court on November 28, where Flanagan says it will come to a conclusion, which may include a sentence.
