MP McLeod questions electoral reform findings
KAMLOOPS — The MP for Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo says a random telephone survey conducted last night refutes the recommendations from the riding’s Electoral Reform Committee.
Cathy McLeod says out of 736 randomly-selected people surveyed, nearly 60 per cent of decided voters don’t believe the current ‘first past the post’ system should change.
She adds nearly two-thirds of decided voters favour a referendum on whether the system should change.
Both results contradict those put forward by the local committee.
