Giroux, Muzzin, Crawford to suit up for Canada against Europe at World Cup
TORONTO — Forward Claude Giroux, defenceman Jake Muzzin and goaltender Corey Crawford will be added to Canada’s lineup tonight in its game against Europe at the World Cup of Hockey.
The trio will replace Ryan Getzlaf, Shea Weber and Carey Price. Braden Holtby will serve as Crawford’s backup. Head coach Mike Babcock said Getzlaf, Weber and Price will all be available when Canada plays in the semifinals this weekend.
Weber sat out Canada’s final practice before the start of the tournament for maintenance.
Giroux, Muzzin and Holtby were all scratched in Canada’s first two preliminary round games, wins over the Czech Republic and United States.
