American Robin Carpenter retains Province of Alberta jersey, wins Tour of Alberta
EDMONTON — American Robin Carpenter is the winner of the 2016 Tour of Alberta.
Carpenter, who rides for Holowesko-Citadel, completed the five-day 580-kilometre event in 13 hours 35 minutes 31 seconds to capture the Province of Alberta jersey on Monday.
Dutch rider Bauke Mollema of Trek-Segafredo cycling came in a close second place (13:35:32), finishing one second behind Carpenter.
American Evan Huffman, of Rally Cycling, held the Province of Alberta jersey after Stage 3 but dropped it to Carpenter and placed third overall (13:35:38).
