Wright-Phillips scores twice as Red Bulls top Impact 3-1
HARRISON, N.J. — Bradley Wright-Phillips scored two goals to become the New York Red Bulls’ career leader and Sach Kljestan tied the club record for assists in a season in a 3-1 victory over the Montreal Impact on Saturday night.
Sean Davis had two assists in the first half and a goal in the opening minute of the second to help the Red Bulls (10-9-6) extend their unbeaten streak to seven games.
“In the first part of the game, we did what we had to do, denying them space and countering, but we lost our focus afterwards,” said Impact coach Mauro Biello.
“Some calls didn’t go our way, but we can’t concede the goals that we conceded, and we have to address that.”
