Williams, Harris and Reilly are named CFL’s top performers for July

TORONTO — Receiver Chris Williams and quarterback Trevor Harris of the Ottawa Redblacks and Edmonton Eskimos quarterback Mike Reilly were named the CFL’s top performers for July on  Wednesday.

Williams and Harris were a dynamic duo for Ottawa, which opened the season with a 3-0-1 record. Williams had 25 catches for 493 yards and six TDs over the Redblacks’ first three games and is currently second in CFL receiving with 38 receptions for 625 yards and the six touchdowns.

Harris replaced an injured Henry Burris and rallied Ottawa to a season-opening 45-37 overtime win over Edmonton. His first completion with the Redblacks was a 71-yard TD strike to Williams.

Harris, currently sidelined with knee and ankle injuries, is fourth overall among CFL passers with 1,499 yards and nine TDs while surrendering just one interception.
