BRAMPTON, Ont. — Police west of Toronto say they’ve charged a man they call a “prolific ticket scammer” with fraud.

Peel Region police allege that 36-year-old Shaun Nixon defrauded 180 victims across Canada between August 2015 and July 2016.

They say Nixon, of no fixed address, poses as an event ticket seller on online classified sites, and asks people for money “up front” for the tickets via electronic money transfers.

They say he’ll send people a phony tracking number, but he never actually had tickets to sell.
