Stampeders out to avenge season-opening loss when they host the Lions
CALGARY — The Calgary Stampeders still remember the disappointing start they had to the CFL season.
Calgary jumped out to a 17-6 lead on the road against the B.C. Lions in its season opener on June 25, but the Stampeders ultimately dropped a 20-18 decision to their West Division rivals.
“Obviously, they probably felt that that game there shouldn’t have been a loss for them,” said Lions coach and general manager Wally Buono.
“Football is a funny game and it’s 60 minutes.”
