KAMLOOPS — Fire Rescue saved what could have been a big fire at an apartment complex on Seymour Street this morning.

Firefighters raced to the scene at Third Avenue and Seymour Street with multiple trucks.

Initial reports had the apartment complex engulfed in flames, but the fire was contained to a shed.

The blaze was knocked down quickly and Captain Darryl Cooper says the investigation will continue into this afternoon.

“That will be up to our Fire Prevention Office, Fire Investigation Unit to come down and see where it started, but it looks like it started in the shed,” explained Cooper.

The apartment complex was completely evacuated by the time firefighters arrived, but no units were damaged.
