Swift Current, Sask., hit with flash floods after 6 cm of rain
SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. — Heavy rainfall caused a flash flood in parts of Swift Current on Saturday leaving some homes in the southwest Saskatchewan city with flooded basements.
Images on social media showed some vehicles in water that reached their bumpers.
One person posted a video on Twitter that showed vehicles plowing through flooded streets.
A city official says the flooding happened after the city got more than six centimetres of rain in less than an hour.
