LYTTON, B.C. — The biggest fire in the Kamloops Fire Centre right now sprang up yesterday just south of Lytton.
Fire Information Officer Rachel Witt says the Kanaka Bar Fire currently maps at four hectares in size.
“The first report that came in for this fire was yesterday afternoon, and we were quick to action on it, and we even had 30 personal who went to the fire yesterday, 10 of them being industry. It is believed to be a human caused fire, but there are fire cause investigators on the scene today,” said Witt.
Witt says the fire is close to railway tracks, but it hasn’t been positively determined that a train sparked the blaze.
