KAMLOOPS — The Thompson Rivers University Faculty Association’s membership is expressing their lack of confidence in the leadership of the university’s senior administration.

The faculty directed the executive to hold an online vote conducted over the last week. Of 363 ballots cast, 81% voted ‘No Confidence’.

President Tom Friedman says the vote should be a wake-up call to the university, saying senior administrators have demonstrated a lack of leadership and a lack of respect for faculty opinions.

With approximately 740-people eligible to vote, it is the highest faculty participation rates for a university-wide vote in 30-years.

Friedman says he would like a meeting to be called with the TRU Board of Governors as an appropriate first step, allowing TRUFA to express concerns of faculty.
