PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. — A long line made its way through a building, and around the block as applicants waited for a chance to hand in their resumes.

Today (February 22) at the Coast Inn of the North, BC Hydro hosted a job fair for the Site C project.

The Crown corporation says right now, work on the Peace River hydroelectric dam is ramping up. 600 workers will be needed by this spring, with 1500 set to work on the project at its peak.

In Prince George, the first people lined up before 9am.

BC Hydro and its contractors have been touring Northern BC, visiting Chetwynd and Fort St John last week. Wednesday, they are set to visit Mackenzie.

The largest contract BC Hydro has awarded so far is to Peace River Hydro Partners, which is on hand accepting resumes.

The company will organize the resumes and follow up when it is closer to construction.
