Name changes approved for two Kamloops schools

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops-Thompson Board of Education has renamed two Kamloops schools.

Starting in the fall, current Beattie School of the Arts students will attend the ‘Kamloops School of the Arts’.

That is the new name for the John Peterson campus on Ninth Avenue.

Also in the fall, students from Stuart Wood Elementary, located on St. Paul Street and slated to close at the end of June, will attend ‘McGill Elementary’.

That’s the new name for the ‘Beattie School of the Arts – McGill campus’.
