TCC hosts breakfast with Hockey’s Holy Grail
KAMLOOPS — It was another chance for residents of Kamloops to rub elbows with hockey royalty, and an opportunity to see two of the most storied trophies in the game. This morning, as part of ScotiaBank’s Hockey Day in Canada celebrations, fans of all ages got to have breakfast with both the Stanley Cup and the Memorial Cup.
Kyle Kaylo, wearing a Jerome Iginila Calgary Flames jersey, came with his friend Kris Kinash, who was sporting an Edmonton Oilers jersey with Jordan Eberle’s #14 on the back. Despite the cheering for rival teams, both fans were excited for the opportunity to get a photo op with Lord Stanley’s Chalice. “It’s awesome,” said Kaylo, “I’ve had a few opportunities before, but I’ve missed out on it, so I’m pretty happy I made it this morning.” Kinash has seen the Cup before, at the Hockey Hall of Fame, in Toronto. “Every kid from Canada dreams of winning the Stanley Cup,” said Kinash.
