KAMLOOPS — A seasonal retail store in Aberdeen Mall is leaving a long-lasting impact on victims of trauma in Kamloops.

Calendar Club, which pops up every year in the mall around the holiday season, has donated nearly 200 teddy bears to the local office of Police Based Victim Services (PBVS).

The bears will be placed in Kamloops RCMP vehicles so police officers and victim services workers can hand them out “to children and adults who have witnessed or experienced tragedy,” according to Kamloops PBVS Program Manager Ula Chauret.

“I think it’s a comfort item for people,” said Madison Kopytko, a Calendar Club employee in a news release. “It’s a token of a simple act of kindness.”
