KAMLOOPS — More than 40,000 people have signed an online petition calling on the University of Calgary to expel a student who admitted to sexual interference with a 13 year old Kamloops girl.

In November in Kamloops provincial court, 21 year old Connor Neurauter pleaded guilty to sexual interference with a person under 16.

Last week, the judge sentenced Neurauter to 90 days behind bars, but delayed the beginning of that sentence to May in order to allow Neurauter to finish his semester at the U of C.

The online petition, posted at change.org, says the court proceedings have been “plagued with delays to accommodate the schedule of the now convicted sex offender.”
