KAMLOOPS - A fire that killed a number of chickens Christmas night marred what was otherwise a relatively quiet Christmas for emergency responders.

Fire department crews were called out late Monday night to  Rammage Road. While the blaze was not a large one, and put out very quickly, officials say  there were a number of chickens that perished among the 50 birds that were in the coop at the time.

No indication at this time what caused the blaze.

Continuing cold weather for the next few days
