KAMLOOPS — One person is dead following a two-vehicle collision on Highway 97 near Westwold this morning.

RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP in Armstrong and the North Okanagan Traffic Services responded to the collision on Highway 97 near Back Road at around 6:40 a.m.

"Upon first responders attendance it was confirmed that the adult male driver of a late model sedan was deceased as a result of the collision with an area school bus. At the time of the crash the bus was occupied solely by the driver who was uninjured as a result," he says.

Moskaluk says further investigation has revealed that the sedan was westbound when it crossed the centre line and collided with the eastbound school bus.

No more information is being released at this time.
