Woman airlifted to Kamloops with serious injuries after accident Thursday

ENDERBY — A 39 year old Aldergrove man is facing charges in connection with the accident that shut down a section of Highway 97 A north of Enderby yesterday morning.

Police say a stolen SUV crossed the centre line and struck a southbound pickup truck driven by a 58-year-old Salmon Arm woman.

She was airlifted to hospital in Kamloops with serious injuries.

The man driving the SUV was also injured.

Police say he's being investigated for dangerous driving causing bodily harm and possession of a stolen vehicle. 

The vehicle is believed to have been stolen from Merritt. 

RCMP Corporal Dan Moskaluk, says charges are anticipated in addition to the driver being arrested on outstanding warrants, as well as impaired driving and is a prohibited driver.
