HOPE — We have an update this morning on that crash on the Hope Princeton Highway that killed a woman a couple of days ago.

RCMP now say that the woman and the man believed to be driving, are suspects in a jewelry store robbery in Nelson earlier in the day.

After the crash the man stole the truck of a BC wildfire member who had stopped to help and took off toward Hope, where the truck was later found.

The suspect, who is known to police, is still on the loose.

The family of the victim has identified her as 35-year old Danielle Charlton, a mother of four.

Charlton’s estranged husband told Global News he blames the man she was seeing for her death.

Charlton’s family say the man driving the vehicle was a man she had been seeing on and off for the past year.

They say he dragged her back into a life of homelessness and drugs.

Charlie Charlton said the man left her injured at a motorcycle crash scene a month ago, worried about getting away.
