KAMLOOPS — There are 294 more students in the District this year than last year.

Rob Schoen, Assistant SuperIntendent of Elementary Schools, says preliminary estimates from the first week of school show School District 73 will have 14,137 students this year.

8,621 students are expected to be registered in elementary schools and 5,156 in secondary schools.

While the number is close to what District officials predicted, some schools saw greater growth than expected.
