Driver inattention cause of six-car pileup in Valleyview

KAMLOOPS — Police are reminding drivers to practice extra caution after a six-car pileup in Valleyview Friday.

Kamloops RCMP Staff Sergeant Robert Daly says a driver heading east made a sudden stop at the intersection of the Trans Canada Highway and Vicar’s Road at around 5 p.m.

Six vehicles were damaged and towed from the scene tying up traffic for hours.

Five people were sent to Royal Inland Hospital with non-life threatning injuries.

RCMP are reminding the public to always leave extra space in front of vehicles especially over the long weekend.
